Grady Lamar Wade, BA, Vanderbilt University.

It is not surprising that Grady Wade’s business career objectives and the Judgment Index™ mesh so seamlessly with one another; for, after all, when Mr. Wade first founded the successful industrial equipment business which he ran for 37 years, he coined the bi-line (which is still proudly embraced by his successors):  “People and Things That Work.”   In answer to the question over the years, “What business are you in,” Mr. Wade would typically respond with the expected type of factual answer and then add, with tongue in cheek---“but that is just a front!”  That’s because his main “business” in life has always been to help people personally and in their organizational lives to maximize their potential for growth and productivity.  He always viewed his business partly as breeding ground for this higher “calling”.

Parallel to his successful business career, Mr. Wade has led an active church, civic and professional life.  He is an Elder and Adult Sunday School Teacher in the Presbyterian Church, a Past Kiwanis Club President and a former Director of Sales and Marketing Executives International.  In addition to these commitments, Mr. Wade has had extensive training at various locations around the country for many years with the prestigious A. K. Rice Institute which is the largest group relations organization in the world.

Mr. Wade’s many years of experience with important assessment tools such as the Myers-Briggs Personality Preference Inventory, Calipers, and Wonderlich have been good precursors to his affiliation with the Judgment Index™, which he refers to as the “Lily work at the top of the column.” ---the link that was missing for years in his own management experience.

Grady and his wife, Mary, have one son and one daughter and four grandchildren.
On a personal note, Grady was signed by the Baltimore Colts NFL Football Team out of college and rubbed elbows with such legendary greats as Johnny Unitas, Raymond Berry, Gino Marchetti and Jim Parker, Lenny Moore, Jimmy Orr and John Mackey.
